Dress Code

3 core principles govern our dress-code policy; A basic standard of modesty, a culture and tradition of setting apart dinner and evening activities with business/casual attire, and concert etiquette for attendees and performers.

Daytime/casual (including athletic wear for free time)

  • Shorts should extend past the length of the fingertips.

  • Shirts must cover the midriff.

  • Any words or images on clothing must be spiritually edifying.

Dinner/evening - Csehy has a longstanding tradition of dressing up for dinner. The following dinner dress code will be applied Monday through Thursday evening each week of camp.

  • Girls: dress pants and blouse or skirts/dresses two inches above the knee or longer - no spaghetti straps or strapless dresses

  • Boys: dress pants (no jeans), collared shirts, ties optional - belts required if pants have loops

Theme Days

Camp often includes special theme days. Some examples have included Super Hero Day, Clash Day, and Christmas in July. Each theme day will be announced the day before so don’t try and pack a suitcase full of costumes, but do be prepared to be creative and have fun with what you have at camp.

Concerts

  • Girls: white blouse, full length black skirt or full-length, dressy, black pants; dark or black shoes

  • Boys: white collared shirt, black bowtie, black dress pants, black socks, dark dress shoes, no jacket

Dress-code questions will be dealt with quietly and discreetly.

Items not to bring — electronics free policy

To promote a camp which is focused on an immersive experience in your music education and personal/spiritual development, we ask that you do not bring electronic devices (including cell-phones, laptops, tablets, MP3 players, and electronic games). Exceptions include cameras, an electronic tuner or metronome, and, in the case of composition students only, laptops with music notation software.

Where a camper brings a prohibited item to camp (eg. such as cell-phones with a camper traveling by plane), the item will be securely stored by your counselor through your time at Csehy, and given back to you at the end of the week.

Parents still have a number of ways to stay in touch with campers - please see our Staying in Touch page below for details.
