Micah Leary

An active performer and collaborator, Micah Leary features a variety of works including Chopin, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and Prokofiev. He recently performed Poulenc’s Double Piano Concerto with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Orchestra, and he has also performed the first movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto and the first movement of Rachmaninoff’s 1st Piano Concerto with the Cairn Symphony Orchestra. 

Micah made his solo debut at Carnegie Hall performing Rachmaninoff’s Etude Tableau Op. 39, No. 6 and continues to program much of Rachmaninoff in both solo and chamber settings. Accompanying multiple opera productions, Micah also specializes as a vocal coach for studios across the country.  In addition to teaching piano at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he runs his own private studio for piano students and teaches classes in music theory and history. Micah has assisted many church music programs as a pianist and accompanist working with congregations, choirs, and other ensembles.

Micah has earned a B.M. and M.M. degree in Piano Performance and is currently working towards his D.M.A. in Piano Performance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln under the direction of Dr. Paul Barnes. Micah continues to work with many nationally and internationally acclaimed teachers including Igor Resnianski, Kenneth Borrmann, Susan Star, Ignat Solzhenitsyn, Paul Barnes, Eric Huebner, Bradford Gowen, Lisa Moore, Christina and Michelle Naughton, Mark Clinton, Christopher Guzman, and Min Kwon.
