Ben McLaughlin

Trombone

Ben McLaughlin is a Miami based Bass Trombonist currently working on his masters at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. Ben is a recipient of the Henry Mancini Fellowship and is a part of the Henry Mancini Institute, which has had the opportunity to perform with Maria Schneider, Scott Robinson, and even got to go on a tour to perform at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. Outside of school, Ben has had the opportunity to play with groups like the South Florida Symphony, the Southwest Florida Symphony, and the Miami Sousa Band. 

Before moving to Miami, Ben finished his Bachelor’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music, where he had studied under the Bass Trombonist of the New York Philharmonic, George Curran. In his time in New York, Ben had the opportunity to work and perform with groups like the Juilliard Trombone Choir, the New York Youth Symphony Jazz band, Protestra, and even the lead singer from The Police, Sting.
